Meet Courtni

Courtni Hurd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) individuals. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Sociology/Social Welfare from California State University of Northridge, then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University. Recognizing her passion for supporting the DHH community, Courtni later transferred to Gallaudet University, where she completed her Master's in social work.


Courtni's therapeutic approach combines mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and a psychodynamic trauma-informed framework that often incorporates somatic exploration and anchoring. She believes in a non-judgmental, strength-based approach, empowering clients to discover their own inner resources to overcome life's challenges.


Courtni is a licensed clinical social worker in Arizona, Maine, Nevada, and Utah.

EXPERIENCE


Courtni began her career, working with children aged 3 to 17 years in school settings for over a decade. She later shifted her focus to working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) adults in various settings, including mental health agencies, hospice, and community centers.
