Culturally affirmative, ASL-fluent therapy and counseling available across Wisconsin by telehealth

Therapy in Your Own Language, Anywhere in Wisconsin

From Milwaukee and Madison to Green Bay, Eau Claire, and the small towns of the Northwoods, Wisconsin covers a lot of ground — and a clinician who communicates directly in American Sign Language (ASL) may be several hours away, or unavailable altogether. We close that gap by bringing fluent, culturally affirmative therapy directly to you, wherever you are in Wisconsin. No interpreter in the room. No spending your first sessions explaining Deaf culture before the real work can begin.

Why Direct ASL Therapy Makes the Difference

When therapy involves an interpreter, every conversation includes a third person — your words pass through someone else before they reach the person meant to help you, and so does everything they say back. A Deaf therapist who signs with you directly changes that. Communication flows naturally, nuance and emotion stay intact, and the therapeutic relationship forms between just the two of you. We understand communication barriers, audism, language deprivation, and the daily realities of navigating a predominantly hearing world, because we live them too. Direct communication in ASL isn't a nice extra — it's the foundation that lets real healing happen.

Support for What You're Facing

Whatever brought you here, you don't have to face it alone. We support clients through anxiety and panic, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, grief, relationship and family challenges, life transitions, and the isolation that so many Deaf people know too well. We work with students navigating school, professionals managing career stress, and parents raising children in a hearing world. We also welcome hearing family members, partners, and CODAs who want to strengthen their relationships and communication. Your experience is valid, and there's real support here for it.

Rooted in Wisconsin's Deaf Community

Wisconsin has a deep Deaf history, and the Wisconsin School for the Deaf in Delavan has played an important role in the state's Deaf community for generations. But not everyone here came up through a Deaf school — many Deaf people in Wisconsin were mainstreamed in public hearing schools, found ASL later in life, or built their sense of community through friends, family, sports, or Deaf events rather than a single campus. All of those paths are valid. We understand these local worlds because we're part of them, and we honor the many intersecting identities — DeafBlind, Deaf+, and more — that make up the community, however you came to it.

Telehealth Across the Badger State

All of our sessions happen through secure, HIPAA-compliant video, so where you live never limits the care you can get. Whether you're in the Milwaukee metro, the Fox Valley, La Crosse, Wausau, Superior, or a rural corner of northern Wisconsin, you can connect with a therapist who signs. All you need is a private space and an internet connection. Many clients meet with us at home, on a lunch break, or wherever fits your day.

We Handle the Logistics So You Can Focus on Healing

Getting started shouldn't be a barrier of its own. We work with most major commercial insurance plans and Medicare, and we offer single-case agreements when we're not already paneled with your plan. Our team verifies your benefits before your first appointment and explains costs plainly, in ASL, so there are no surprises. You focus on your wellbeing; we handle the paperwork.

Finding the Right Therapist or Counselor for You

We're the largest Deaf-centered therapy practice in the United States, which means you're not matched with whoever happens to be available — you're matched based on clinical expertise, therapeutic approach, communication style, and personal fit, not simply whoever has the next open appointment. You'll work with a Wisconsin-licensed clinician who fits your needs, your goals, and the way you communicate. Every one of our providers is Deaf or fluent in ASL, and every one is fully licensed. You can verify any clinician's license yourself — we welcome it.

A Path Forward in Wisconsin

You don't have to keep waiting for care that finally fits. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you're returning after a frustrating experience with providers who couldn't sign, there's a place for you here. Meet our team of Deaf and ASL-fluent therapists and counselors serving Wisconsin.
