Meet Leah

(she, her, hers)

Leah has extensive experience working with diverse client populations, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing, have severe developmental delays, as well as children with cognitive and behavioral issues. She has broad training in advocacy engagement with community counseling and service-related organizations and tailors her approach from a comprehensive background in youth-focused community services. Over the course of her time as a clinician, she has received specialty training in child and adolescent needs and strengths (CANS) and uses these skills to implement evidence-based treatments for vulnerable and underserved populations. Leah has over 10 years of multidisciplinary experience working with adolescents, families, and community partner organizations, placing immense value on teaming up with community-based providers, family members, and other supports in order to ensure that her clients can get ample and efficient care. Throughout her 10 years in the field, Leah has worked as an intensive care coordinator and outpatient clinician, gathering a breadth of skills in community counseling and services-related settings.

Leah has made a commitment to continuous learning and growth in culturally competent therapy,  integrating trauma-informed practice as a collaborative and individualized approach with each client and tailoring effective treatments to their unique needs. She aims to work with clients to co-create a holistic plan for therapy that honors the individual’s strengths, values, identities, and cultural background. Leah values a family systems-based approach, which lends importance to the formative and foundational ways in which close caregivers can shape a client. Furthermore, she finds that she can provide more immediate support to her clients by working directly with those closest to her clients. As she finds each client to be inseparable from their network of relationships, she places an emphasis on getting to know the client’s relational context so that she can better equip herself to support her client from their unique location(s). Leah has ample experience working with outside providers and continues to prioritize a community-based approach that allows her to meet her clients where they are at.

Leah’s pronouns are she/hers.
