Meet Tandy

(they, them)

Finding a safe harbor where your story is honored and your journey supported can make all the difference in a challenging world. As a queer person, Tandy has firsthand experience with the difficulties of finding a therapist who understands the barriers faced by those who identify outside the cis-heteronormative society. Tandy welcomes and affirms all individuals and their experiences, but holds particular a passion for working with LGBTQIA+ community, including those who are still exploring their identities. 

 

Tandy (they/them) is a white Deaf Non-Binary trans Deaf Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) fluent in ASL. They have more than six years of experience working with Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of clinical and community settings. Tandy has experience working with issues related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem and self-image, gender and sexuality, families and relationships, life transitions, and grief and loss.They are also experienced in developing strategies to support those with ADHD and related issues.

 

Tandy approaches therapy with a deep commitment to honoring the unique strengths and experiences of each individual using a multidimensional approach to therapy. Grounded in a person-centered approach, Tandy believes in creating a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space for self-exploration, discovery and healing. They understand that the journey of self-discovery and personal growth is unique for each individual, honoring the diversity of identities and experiences that clients bring to the therapeutic space. They recognize the importance of acknowledging their experiences and privileges as a White, college-educated person while supporting people through their unique journeys. Tandy is licensed in Massachusetts and uses the pronouns they/them.
