Meet Veronica

(she, her, hers)

Veronica Tovar is currently an intern at My Deaf Therapy while completing her master’s degree in social work at Gallaudet University. Veronica identifies as a Deaf-Blind (low vision) Latina. She graduated from Gallaudet University with a B.A. in Psychology. Respectful, caring, open-minded, non-judgmental, and inclusive, she aims to make everyone feel welcome, included, and safe. 

 

Veronica strives for clients from all backgrounds, ages, walks of life, and identities to feel empowered, supported, encouraged, and guided in achieving their needs and goals. Her approach focuses on client-centered therapy, where she listens without judgment, acknowledges unique experiences, and provides tools such as coping skills, mindfulness, and self-care to support client’s objectives.


Veronica provides outpatient mental health services under the supervision of Melissa Healey, LCSW, and Shannon Shiver, LCSW within My Deaf Therapy’s intensive clinical training program.


Veronica's pronouns are she/her/hers.
