Meet Madison

(she, they)

Madison (Maddie) Dymond is a hard-of-hearing Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Gallaudet University. Madison grew up oral and began learning ASL in 2018, entering and completing Gallaudet's ASL Certificate Program. She has a Bachelor's degree in psychology and completed a minor in Spanish during her undergraduate years.

While crisis counseling makes up the bulk of Madison's clinical experience, she also has experience in a variety of environments, such as volunteering in schools, interning at a behavioral health hospital, and visiting a client in the home. Madison has worked with all age groups and has experience in both individual and group settings. Most of her work has been with people in marginalised communities, especially LGBTQIA+ youth.

Behind everything she does is a passion for social justice and advocacy, unconditional positive regard, a belief in the worth of every person, and a foundational drive to help people navigate their circumstances. She seeks to provide care through an intersectional lens that combats systems of oppression and to fill in some of the gaps in mental health care for underserved communities.
